PHILOSOPHY

The Philosophy of Vimalalaya College of Nursing basically is identified with the Christian Doctrine of “Love your brothers”.

Its vision is to experience God’s love in its fullness through compassionate and utmost health care. It began as a small hospital with 10 beds and has grown to a super specialty hospital. It is one of the reputed health care facilities run by catholic religious sisters in Bangalore. The hospital conducts free mobile clinics that provide preventive, curative and rehabilitative services to the poor and needy in the rural areas. To extent the scope of nursing education service, the Trust has decided to start a Basic B.Sc. Nursing programme affiliated to RGUHS, Bangalore.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME OFFERED

Nursing program

On completion of the Basic B Sc Nursing program, the nursing graduates will be able to practice professional nursing and midwifery competently indiverse settings.

Laboratory

They are focused on promotive, preventive and restorative health services in line with national health policies and programs.

Learning

Integrate professional caring into practice decisions that encompass values, ethical, moral and legal aspects of nursing.

ADMISSION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

About Course

The minimum age for admission will be 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
The maximum age limit for admission will be 35 years.

Minimum Educational Qualification
  • Candidate with Science who has passed the qualifying 12th Standard examination (10+2) and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and passed in English individually.
  • Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government having Science subjects and English only.
  • English is a compulsory subjecting 10+2 for being eligible for admission to B.Sc. (Nursing).
Course Content
  • Candidate shall be medically fit.
  • Married candidates are also eligible for admission.
  • Students are admitted once in a year.
  • Medium of instruction-English and Duration:4 Years
  • Selection of candidates should be based on the merit of the common entrance examination conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for Admission to Basic B Sc Nursing each year.
ADMISSION STRENGTH:

Maximum intake of students will be 40.

a) Candidates can download application of Vimalalaya College of Nursing ( Online Application Form ) from 1st May 2024 from college  website https://vimalalayacollegeofnursing.com

b) Candidates should submit the duly filled application form in online along with the requisite documents on or before 31st May 2024

c) Application to be accompanied by scanned copies of self-attested photocopies of the certificates

d) Candidates must bring the order copy issued based on merit list by KEA on admission

Anti Ragging Committee

Vimalalaya College of Nursing is an anti-ragging campus. All forms and instances of Ragging in the campus is prohibited. To address and curb any menace of ragging, Vimalalaya College of Nursing has constituted the anti-ragging committee which is displayed in the college and hostel notice boards. Students can report any forms and instances of Ragging to the institutional anti-ragging committee. PHYSICAL FACILITIES AND INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE NURSING COLLEGE

The College of Nursing is an independent building having a space of above 23500 square feet.  It includes well spaced and ventilated lecture halls, equipped laboratories, contended library, well renowned hostel amenities with spaced canteen.

It is sufficient and spacious lecture halls for each batch. It is well ventilated with comfortable seating amenities.

Laboratories:

It is spacious and well equipped laboratories where various procedures have been demonstrated to students and allowed students to have hands on practice in a virtual setting. Cutting-edge facilities aim to give complete practical training in each area to develop their knowledge and skill before direct patient care. It includes Nursing Foundation (includes Adult health nursing and Advanced nursing Lab.), Community Health Nursing Lab/ Nutrition Lab , OBG Lab , Child Health Nursing (Paediatric) Lab , Pre clinical Science Lab. (Bio-chemistry, Microbiology, Anatomy & Physiology) and Computer Lab.

Library Facilities: It is spacious and well-equipped with nursing reference books, thesis, daily issuing books and Periodicals. At present, more than 910 books are placed in the library. International and National Journals are available in the library.

CLINICAL FACILITIES

Vimalalaya College is attached to its own parent hospital having a 200-bed capacity. It is a multi specialty hospital having Medical, Surgical, Paediatric, Gynaecology/Obstetrics, Dental, Neurology, Emergency Medicine, Cardiology and Urology departments with all supportive facilities. Apart from the parent hospital, the college is affiliated to government and private hospital to provide clinical experience and community experience are provided in rural and urban community health centres. 

TEACHING FACULTY

Vimalalaya College of nursing takes possible measure to invest best education to students. Primary concern of the institution is to provide quality education to the students, so institution appointed experienced and committed teachers

 

Well secured Hostel facilities are available for girls within campus. Hostel facilities for boys are provided outside the campus.

Nutritious and Tasty food served in our canteen which is well furnished and hygienic. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is served. South Indian food is served for students from Kerala.

All the students are encouraged to excel and participate in cultural programmes at University, & SNA at State and National level . All national days are observed in the nursing college.  Cultural programmes are organised regularly on scheduled days.
